Ph·ē·l·ō is the creative output of designer Joe Phelan.

Joe approaches each task with an intent to isolate and express its true essence. He is deeply influenced by the power typography has in distilling free-flowing concepts into written word that resonates as much as it informs.

His broader interests surround areas like film and writing, where he enjoys exploring ideas about people, place, truth and history.

Joe currently works at IADT, building and designing a Mythological Compendium website as part of Digital Mythologies, an EU funded project organised by Aalto University Finland and undertaken collectively by IADT Dun Laoghaire, ASP Katowice, VAA Vilnius and the Royal Academy of Fine Arts Antwerp.
